Born in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico, Ruth studied painting as early in 1980’s at the Museum Academy of Bellas Artes -- with maestros of the abstraction such as Gustavo Ozuna and Mario Moreno Zazueta. Then she took a research project, life drawing and sculpture at the Art Department of College of the Desert. She currently lives and works in Cathedral City CA.
Her personal development as an artist, has been essentially experimental including her missionary days in western states of Mexico.
The act of discovery has motivate her to paint, mixing textures, colorful raw pigments with oils applied in many layers.
Painting as an active meditation in the pursuit of art itself crosses boundaries of cultures thus remaining integral to ones roots, nevertheless.
Origins are universal concepts. As in nature and in music an inner source of contemplation, solace and vital at its core. These are unlimited dimensions leading the action of painting her expression from reality to abstraction a journey of growth.
