Born in Havana, Cuba in 1965, Fundora currently lives and paints in Cuernavaca, Mexico. With his unique approach to photorealistic renderings of people, landscapes and still life scenes, Fundora has mastered theHyperrealism technique – a genre of painting and sculpture resembling a high-resolution photograph. Considered an independent art movement and art style that has developed widely since 2000, Hyperrealism advances photorealism through the application of methods used to create the resulting paintings or sculptures.
Fundora’s work represents his passion to convey human beauty. The artist submerges in the internal world of the human being capturing their emotional factors including - state-of-mind, their happiness, sadness and frustrations. Fundora’s paintings capture the beauty he sees in the human condition, established through his counterpoint between physical beauty and feelings – the ultimate ruling of life. He works with acrylics on canvas and his confidence is reflected on each stroke.
