Painter, sculptor and drawer, Israel was born in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico. He attributes his skills and knowledge to the influence and teachings of multiple people, rather than to a formal institution. It begins with the foundation received from his parents, and continues with his teacher Pedro Eufraca, who gave him a professional base in his art workshop.
Later he attended the school of plastic arts of the University of Guadalajara, where he obtained several diplomas. His talent was nurtured in the friendship and knowledge of artists with a great trajectory such as the muralist Martorrev, the ceramic potters Jorge Wilmont and Ángel Santos, painter Atanasio Monroy, as well as painters Armando and Raúl Anguiano – the latter one recognized as one of the greatest symbols of Mexican nationalist art, and from whom Israel remembers a very important advice: draw daily, never let a day go by without your hands using the instruments of expression.
