DAVID A. CLARK

David was born in 1966 in Newport Pagnell, United Kingdom and immigrated to the United States when he was quite young.

A unique and groundbreaking innovator with encaustic, a painting medium that dates to the 5thcentury BC, David creates prints and paintings that incorporate arrows as a way of exploring universal themes of humanity by visually expanding on the expression of movement, the passage of time, meditations on direction, impulse or legacy, and as a collective, illustrating the journey or state of humankind.

In the last several years David’s work has appeared in more than 40 solo and group shows across the US. His work is in the collections of the Process and Hunterdon Art Museums, numerous private and public collections and has appeared in many publications including Surface Design Journal, Encaustic Art in the 21st Century, and Authentic Visual Voices: Contemporary Paper and Encaustic, Encaustic Works 2010 and numerous issues of Art in Print Magazine.

An internationally recognized teacher of and speaker on encaustic printmaking, David recently taught printmaking in the Netherlands, is a frequent guest artist teacher at R & F Handmade Paints
